RESUME CHECKLIST:  

When you prepare your resume, please ensure that you have following details:


Your resume:
___ Has your name, address, phone number (s) and email address at the top of the page.
___ Your email address is professional sounding (do not include any nicknames or your date of birth, etc…Example, anna.manuel@gmail.com is a good email format)
___ Contains a career objective that highlights your career interest and the skills that will make you a worthwhile employee/co-op student in that career.
___ Contains relevant information for your targeted job/co-op placement and does not include irrelevant information.
___ Highlights key skills and abilities on the first page.
___ Includes results/SAR (situation, action, result) OR achievement statements.
___ Is 100% accurate- perfect spelling, punctuation and grammar.
___ Is a maximum of 2 pages.
___ Has your name and page number on each page.
___ Looks professional, lots of white space, professional fonts and headings (uses the same size font throughout the document, except for the heading) and makes headings stand out.
___ Is easy to read - no long paragraphs, you have eliminated the 1st person (no “I’), you have eliminated non-essential data (example, names of supervisors, references, your weight, height, age, etc…).

___ Is written in point form/bullet form, no long sentences.
